RANDY GAMBILL

Musician/Singer/Songwriter

Woodshedding - (Excerpt from the Woodshedding Sourcebook). In the early days of the big bands, the term woodshedding was introduced by jazz musicians to indicate long practice sessions in a private place where the musician could practice alone and undisturbed.

Randy has been 'woodshedding' since he first picked up a guitar at an early age.  Randy has strived to always apply this ethic in his quest to write quality songs and gives his all in his live performances. You can reach him anytime to talk about music @ Tel: (336)927-2088 or Email: randygambill@hotmail.com!

Excerpts from 'Another Look' CD Review -

"Backstreet is a band that puts out a lovely sound, with great muscianship and personal songwriting. Their CD Another Look will be definitely get air-play on KSUT." "Nice songwriting on (Randy Gambill's) John Barleycorn".  Beth Warren - KSUT Four Corners Public Radio -Ignacio, CO www.ksut.org

Excerpts from 'Small Town' CD Reviews -

"Five of the eleven tracks come from the hand of mandolin player/vocalist Randy Gambill, 'Green Light' being particularly good..." - Venue Magazine, Bath, England

"They are rhythmically and melodically creative and in Randy Gambill have a songwriter who is able to conjure a picture of small town America that I've not experienced since first hearing Lucinda Williams and Steve Earle.  'Moonshine Whiskey' is a first rate song made superb by the introduction of guest dobro player Paul Godden.  I have a similar affection for 'Small Town', the title track, which has the combination of Randy's exposed vocals and Paul Godden's dobro."  - British Bluegrass News

"Gambill's 'Gypsy Breeze' is radio play pick.  Title cut by Gambill fits the country sound and is sure-fire due to be covered by others. Why's it taken so long?...Air play rating - 8"  - Country Music Round-up
